6th Kaziranga Elephant Festival rescheduled for April 18-20

The 6th Kaziranga Elephant Festival has been postponed to April 18-20 due to the ongoing examinations, elephant census in the KNP scheduled from February 20 to 26 as well as some other reasons.

Earlier, it was informally decided to organise the KEF from February 27 to 29 . The decision to postpone the festival was taken at a public meeting held at the convention centre, Kohora under the chairmanship of Golaghat Deputy Commissioner DK Goswami where officers and representatives of different organisations were present.

Ranjit Hazarika, the SDO(C), Bokakhat who is also the general secretary of the KEF, organising committee, informed that some more features will be added this year in the festival to attract visitors.

He has also asked for write-ups for the KEF souvenir which may be addressed to his office at Bokakhat or to Jayanta Das, lecturer in English, JDSG College, Bokakhat or to Nizara Borthakur, Bokakhat.
