NEC meet working out Vision 2020 for North East

The North Eastern Council is holding its crucial session for the second day at the Pragya Bhawan in Agartala on Tuesday to finetune the 2020 Vision.. The meeting which began on Monday finalsed a task force comprising the state Chief Secretaries and NEC and DONER secrtaries to clear the roadmap.

Talking to reporters, DoNER minister Mani Shankar Ayer deplored that the utlisation of the central funds are not upti the mark. Even when asked, the states often evade direct reply.  

He said a huge quantity of fund has been accumulated in the non-lapsable pool due to the non-implementation of projects but evaded direct question on the reasons of such failure.

On the question of the suggestions to dissolve the ministry, he said the group of ministers has already taken up the issue with the states and a final decision will be taken by the government.

Four out of eight Chief Minister are delivering on the proposed Vision-2020 document which received a final shape.
