NE Congress MPs to go with UPA on July 22 floor test

The Congress MPs from the north eastern region will vote for the Indo-US civilian nuclear deal on the June 22 floor test.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday  in Shillong, chairman of North East Congress Coordination Committee D D Lapang said the decision is unanimous among the the Congress MPs of the region and that UPA will survive the floor test.

Mr Lapang, who is also the leader of the opposition in Meghalaya, termed the Meghalaya Progressive Alliance (MPA) government as a bundle of contradictions and was 'directionless'.

A day after MPA constituents sought scrapping of the controversial power deals between the state and private companies to develop power projects, the former Meghalaya Chief Minister said the government should make public the report of the high-powered committee on them and point out the loop-holes.
