AASU, ADSU, KSU vow war

The All Assam Students Union, the All Dimasa Students Union and Karbi Students Union have launched a series of agitation with ADSU and KSU against the Bangladeshi immigrants in Assam. The students organisations have adopted a slew of agitational programmes to resolve the problem.

The state’s powerful student’s body’s bid to deport the Bangladeshis received a boost on Wednesday when the All Dimasa Students Union and Karbi Students Union vowed to join the AASU in detecting and deporting the illegal Bangladeshi migrants who have intruded into the state from across the border after 1971.
The three student bodies held a crucial meeting in the city’s Swahid Byash Bhawan on Wednesday and decided to jointly wage war against these infiltrators. The meeting unanimously asked the those Bangladeshi nationals to quit the state who have intruded into Assam after March 25, 1971.

The student bodies said that infiltration from across the border has been posing a serious threat to the identity of the indigenous people.

The agitational programmes are Satyagrah on September 13. This will be followed by a RAIZ MEL on September 28 at Haflong and then a human chain on October 1 in the city.
