Tiwa students withdrew 48 hr central Assam bandh
The Tiwa students bodies have withdrawn the 48 hour bandh call from Monday morning.
Speaking to Assam Times over telephone, the leaders with the organisation say the decision was taken in view of the meeting with Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on November 22 at Dispur.
Mr Gogoi has already confirmed it, they say.
The student bodies were striking in protest against the government move to hold panchayat polls in the areas falling under the Tiwa Autonomous District Councils.
They were preparing for a three hour long road blockade in Jagiroad on November 27.
