75% turn out in NC Hills polls

Amid a watertight security arrangement, seventy five percent voters exercised their franchise in the first phase of polls in the North Cachar Hills district on Monday. The polling was by and large peaceful. No report of any untoward incident has been reported so far. The polling in the hills district began at 7 in the morning and ended at 4 in the afternoon accordingly.

The hills district is all set to go to the second phase of polls on December 1.
