Memorial award to Apurba Kumar Saikia
Dr Apurba Kumar Saikia, a noted short story writer of Assam, was conferred the Jadab Sarma Memorial award at the Chandra Prasad Saikia Kshetra at the Nagaon Book Fair ground recently.
The award was instituted in the memory of Jadab Sarma, a writer of the abahan era, since 2005.The award was presented to Dr Saikia for his short story collection 'Bojarat Edin'. The former president of Asom Sahitya Sabha, Mahim Bora, presented the award to Dr Saikia before a large gathering.
The award carries Rs 5000, a citation and a trophy.
