Film appreciation course begins

The ‘Film Appreciation Course’, being organised by the National Film Archive of India and Film and Television Institute of India in collaboration with the Assam State Film (Finance & Development) Corporation Ltd (ASFFDC), got off to a colourful start at the Rudra Barua Auditorium of Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio premises here on Monday.

The ‘Film Appreciation Course’, being organised by the National Film Archive of India and Film and Television Institute of India in collaboration with the Assam State Film (Finance & Development) Corporation Ltd (ASFFDC), got off to a colourful start at the Rudra Barua Auditorium of Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio premises here on Monday.

The inaugural function, attended by a host of dignitaries, filmmakers, film students, saw Minister of Cultural Affairs Bharat Chandra Narah inaugurating this course by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

The function began with felicitation to the chief guest Narah and other guests of honour, including Secretary, Department of Cultural Affairs, RK Das, IAS, Additional Secretary, Department of Cultural Affairs, Swapnanil Barua, IAS, Director National Film Archive of India, VH Jadhav, film scholar and the director of the Film Appreciation Course, Professor Suresh Chabria and Managing Director (ASFFDC) Nazreen Ahmed, ACS. It was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Narah and welcome address by Ahmed.
