Programme on Climate Change
Climate change is one of the issues that is going to challenge the mankind in the days to come. People around the world are concerned about the ill effects of climate change. Governments and civil society organization around the world has started working on combating climate change through various methods. It has become impossible to predict for a sustainable future as the world has witnessed negative impacts due to climate change. The worst suffers of the climate change have been the poor and the marginalized people whether they are from coastal areas or from the mountains.
One of the important events in connection with climate change which was held at Copenhagen has failed to regain the confidence of the people. The Conference of Parties 15 or commonly known as COP 15 could bring much hope for the people. Countries like India prepared National Action Plan for climate Change and it has prepared for the COP 15 but nothing much has happened.
Youths have been integral part of the society but there has been very less say by the youths in the climate negotiations. Youths are not merely the spectators but needs to be protagonist and take actions for combating climate change. it has become important for the youths to take part for bringing solutions to the climate crisis.
The northeastern region of India being one of the bi diversity hot spot areas of the world is a fragile ecosystem and the impacts of climate change will bring more and more problem for the living species. Apart from the mankind, climate change will affect the rich flora and fauna of the wild that will create imbalance in the ecosystem.
