Hagrama lays foundation stone of Karigaon CHC
KOKRAJHAR: BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary laid the foundation stone for construction of 30 bedded Karigaon Community Health Centre (Model Hospital) at Karigaon Maigongpuri in Kokrajhar district on Sunday. The hospital will be constructed under health and family welfare department to provide health services along the greater Karigaon area towards the northern part of Kokrajhar district. Mohilary while extending his wishes for an early construction of the hospital and providing health services in the area said that it is an initiative to facilitate health care for remote areas in Kokrajhar. He said the health department in the state has been emphasizing for a better health service facilities across the state.Assam minister for Social welfare department Pramila Rani Brahma was also present on the occasion.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar.
