Kokrajhar ready to celebrate 72nd Independence Day

Kokrajhar,Aug 14:  Kokrajhar is all set to celebrate 72nd Independence Day on Wednesday with befitting programme scheduled at Govt HS & MP School ground in Kokrajhar, for which why students from different school/colleges and police contingents are ready to showcase parade during the celebration.

Along with rest of the state, all kinds of preparations are so far completed to celebrate the Independence Day in Kokrajhar district. The district administration has been celebrating the day with day-long programme scheduled; centrally at Govt HS & MP school ground and Gossaigaon and Parbatjhora sub-divisions have been arranged celebration separately at their respective sub-division headquarters respectively.

The celebration would also be witness of cultural, sports and award presentation among successful students, personalities on various fields.

Altogether 27 parade continents comprising 750 participants, including four Assam Police and school/college student contingents are participating the parade showcase beautiful march-past on the Independence Day celebration in Kokrajhar.

 The celebration ground has been kept strict security observation by CCTV and vigil security to make grand success of the celebration. Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar Niranjan Baruah told that district administration has fully prepared to celebrate the Independence Day in the district. District administration clamped 144 Cr PC in the district besides making vigil security arrangements with checking in all vehicular movement in the region.

‘We are fully prepared to celebrate Independence Day. We have arranged necessary law and order situation. No any security lapse would be allowed while maintaining the law and order during the celebration. We have arranged beautiful cultural troupes from different educational institutions from district’, Baruah said.

SP of Kokrajhar Rajen Singh said that district police administration has been kept security vigil in the entire district ahead Independence Day celebration and put closed eyes along the Indo-Bhutan border areas so that untoward incidents could be avoided. He informed that security forces, including border security force have been deployed along the Indo-Bhutan border and inter-state border areas with West Bengal ahead the celebration and all sensitive areas are put on alert. He also informed that all parade grounds, including district headquarter and subdivision are under closed observation by installing CCTVs.

‘Necessary security arrangements are deployed in the district head the national freedom day, border areas, inter-state border areas are kept under strict security observation. All sensitive areas are put on alert by deploying security forces. Strong security movement, checking all the entry points, check post and naka-checking are made in the entire district besides organizing counter insurgency operation ahead the national freedom day celebration’, Singh said.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar.
