Tiwa Yuva Chatra Parishad and Tiwa Women Welfare Association activists staging protest Hundreds of Tiwa Yuva Chatra Parishad and Tiwa Women Welfare Association activists have staged protest at Last Gate on Friday demanding the Sixth Schedule status for the Tiwas along with some others demands. Talking to reporters, the protesters said the demand has not been respondent yet although it was raised in 1967. The Assam Government constituted the Tiwa Autonomous Council but did not include it in the Sixth Schedule. Miffed at this, the two Tiwa bodies have intensified their protest at Dispur Last Gate on Friday. Other demands include the implementation of the Tiwa Language Accord, early election of the Tiwa Council.
