Talking to media people here on Wednesday, advisor of the powerful Assam students body Dr Samujjal Bhattacharjee has brought a serious allegation against the governments that it have been insisting the children of those illegal migrants, who came to the state up to 2004, be also given voting rights.

The organisation further also accused the government of failing to seal the Indo-Bangladesh border by March 31 as it was promised earlier.

The influential All Assam Students Union (AASU) has blamed the central and state governments for their failure in implementing the Assam Accord, solve the foreigners problem and seal the Indo-Bangladesh border.

Twenty yeas have passed sicne the Asam Accord was signed and yet the names of the 1966-71 batch of illegal foreigners were not deleted from the electoral rolls.
The students organisation will observe a statewide 10-hour fast on March 25 in oin protest against the governments' failures to implement the Accord.
