Major blast averted in Namrup as Army recover bomb

A powerful blast in Namrup has been averted when Army’s 44 Field Regiment jawans recovered a bomb in the wee hours on Monday. According to information, the bomb was stripped at a bicycle which was kept at the parking place of the Namrup Railway Station. The army jawans recovered I at around 4-45 in the morning and defused at 6 in the morning. Investigation is on. On the other hand, security has been beefed up in and around the state in view of ULFA’s Raising Day on Monday.

According to information received just before a while, the Army recovered the bomb acting on the confessional statements from three arrested youths beforehand namely Putul Gogoi, Nabajyoti Gogoi and Jatin Gogoi. All of these youths are from from Borhat area in Dibrugarh district. The bomb is believed to have been targetted the Kamrup Express.
