Assam Times: Sudden raid: Deer flash, yak skin, many others seized from Dispur Sudden raid: Deer flash, yak skin, many others seized from Dispur ================================================================================ Editor on 17 April, 2008 09:02:00 Police and forest department officials in the city's Dispur area have seized skins and flash of deer and yak with some arms and ammunitions during a joint raid on Thursday. According to information, the joint raid was conducted at the residence of Manu Bezbaruah on the basis on the confessional statement of Shivaji Baruah who was arrested by police on Tuesday. The raid was conducted at the house of Manu Bezbaruah just behind the Dispur State Bank where some flash, skins and horns of deer and yak were seized. Also an elephant leg was in the seizer list. The arms and ammunition include a DBBL gun, 2 rifles, 9 rounds of live bullets of DBBL gun, 132 small arms bullets. Police failed to arrest Monu as he was absent from his residence. But his mother told police that Manu who has license to keep these arms and ammunitions has left for his father in law's house in Arunachal. Monu's mother, however, told police that they know Shivaji Baruah, a deputy director of animal husbandry and veterinary department who was arrested by police on Tuesday in the city's Khanapara area. She also said that on Tuesday Monu left for Arunachal where his father in law houses. Before that in the morning at around 6 he was absent in his house.
