The facade, now in display, is about nexus with the rebel outfit DHD jewel outfit. A day after the DHD(J) outfit announced that it has resumed unilateral ceasefire, Assam Chief Minister said his government is not assuaged by the announcement citing the earlier experience. Mr Gogoi, further, hinted the formation of a new battalion with the help of the former militants to make the crackdown more effective. According to the Chief Minister, the ASDC and BJP members of the council have been maintaining an nexus with these rebels to make the situation more volatile. The ASDC and BJP members have protested it with heat and came out some specific allegations against health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma's alleged nexus with the rebels. Addressing a recent press conference, the Executive members of the Council alleged that Dr Sarma provided shelter and rupees Rs 50,000 in cash to Garlosa Jewel while he was floating the DHD(J) faction. Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is holding a few rounds of talk with Governor Lt General (Retd) Ajoy Kumar Singh on an effective crackdown againt the rebels who have declared unilateral ceasefire. According to information, a failed Assam Government so far has set up a peace committee in the district, two ministers have visited the district after the end of the violence and that's all it has done to bring normalcy back to the district.
