Face of criminal: More trouble time await Gogoi cabinet
The more Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is trying to extricate himself from on going trouble the more his is getting sinking in it. In yet another development, former Rajya Sabha MP Basanti Sarma is seeking CBI probe into the assassination of her husband Manabendra Sarma. Talking to a private satellite TV news channel that beamed the story Mrs Sarma said only a CBI probe could identify the real culprit behind the murder of her husband.
The Opposition parties are demanding a CBI probe into the case which that Government has been denying where health minister Dr Himana Biswa Sarma's name comes up the Opposition leaders ae to be believed. Also the Opposition finds it strange why and how the file having evidence to implicate Dr Sarma has been missing.
On the other hand, another minister Gautom Roy is allegedly involved in the killing of NRI businessman Pratul Deb in Karimganj district.The Opposition is set to intensify the demand for CBI probe into these two high profile cases.
Both Dr Sarma and Mr Roy are known to be acolytes of the Chief Minister and if the Chief Minister is forced to handover the cases to the CBI, then it will be a final disaster for the Congress government. The Opposition leaders now will not allow the government to remain in peace. The July Assembly session which is said to be a brief will be a stormy one..
The entire development has come up after the arrest of education minister Ripun Bora by CBI while he was trying to bribe a CBI official who was probing a murder case.
