A D C held for taking bribe

The Additional Deputi Commisioner of Morigaon district Haripada Roy has been sent to police custody on February 13 for allegedly demanding and taking bribes against Permanent Residence Certificates (PRCs).
According to the information, Morigaon district Deputy Commissioner, Apurba Kumar Phukan received several written complaints lodged against the ADC alleging that Roy had demanded bribe and taken bribe of Rs 500 from each of the applicants for issuing PRCs, on which he took the initiative and sent the former to police custody and locked up his office.
