2 killed in Assam poll violence

Two persons died in two separate incidents of violence as Assam was going to the second last and phase of polling on Thursday.
In the first one incident, some unidentified miscreants killed Assam United Democratic Front leader of Goalpara district Ganesh Hazarika at a place under Mornoi police station in Dhubri. Later police apprehended Ramu Das, charging him with killing the AUDF leader.
In the second one incident, the body of an AGP worker was found in Roha under Nagaon Lok sabha constituency on Thursday.
On the other hand, a polling station under Bilasipara Assembly constituency of Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency, nine booths recorded nil polling, while only 103 votes were cast. Of the total 13,571 votes in these 14 polling stations, 13,468 voters boycotted polling to demand a 14 km road from Beltoli to Kudaldhowa.
