SULFA man puts Assam Cong in trouble
A sensational revelation by a jailed surrendered ULFA man seems to have rattled the ruling Congress in Assam a year ahead of the assembly polls in the state. He is Kamal Nath who on Wednesday made this stunning revelation that altogether eleven ULFA men captured in Bhutan were killed in Shillong after they were handed over to the country.
In yet another disclosure, he said three Congress heavyweights were involved in the brutal killing tea garden leader Danial Topno.
Talking to reporters after being produced before the Nagaon session court, the former ULFA man and an accused in the Topno murder case said Topno was killed in Jorabat in the outskirt of the city of Guwahati. According to him, the then Congress MP from Tezpur Mani Kumar Subba, former Congress minister Ripun Bora and the sitting Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma were involved in this case.
A few days back, Nath said the secret killings are a handiwork of Congress party in Assam that rocked the state during the Mahanta regime.
