Opp. thrashes goverment over tribal welfare

The Assam government drew flak on the second of the Budget Session for its failure to hold election in number of tribal autonomous bodies.  AGP MLA- Chandramohan Patowary, Ramendra Narayan Kalita, along with Independent MLA Bhuban Pegu and others blamed the government for the poor economic background of the tribal people. The ruling party MLAs also charged the opposition parties with not helping the government. Tribal welfare minister, Promilarani Brahma tried to pacify the opposition parties but failed. Thus the house witnessed an unruly scene where the opposition party MLAs and those from the ruling party namely Rockbul Hussain, Bhupen Bora, Chandan Brahma, mired in trading charges and counter charges against each other.
