7 ULFA cadres surrender, major surrender next month
In a major setback for the ULFA. Seven ULFA hardcore activists of the dreaded 9th Battalion have surrendered in two places in lower Assam on Thursday even as a major surrender has yet to come. Four hardcore ULFA militants surrendered before the Army’s Red Horn Division at a function organized at Kalapur based 6th Rajput Battalion office. They are Major Anil Kumar Boro, Tuluk Gogoi, Ajit Brahma and Padum Hazarika . They have further handed over some arms and ammunitions before the army. The army officials said there will be a major surrender next month which will include several top ranked ULFA cadres. On the other hand, three more ULFA leaders also surrendered before the authority on Thursday in Barpeta disrtrict.
