Former Assam Assembly Speaker Pulakesh Baruah will seek legal action against the excess inflicted on him after he was arrested by the Nalbari police in connection with the teacher recruitment scam in Nalbari district.
Addressing a press conference in the city on Tuesday, he suspected the role of senior minister Bhumidhar Barman who said that the arrest was as per the High Court instruction. Mr Baruah informed that there was no High Court order to arrest him.
The former Assam Assembly Speaker and sitting Trinamool Gana Parishad president was arrested by the Nalbari police from his own residence at the Sarat Chandra Singha Road in Guwahati. He was charged with involving in the teacher recruitment scam in the district. But he said he has always been assisting in the probe to unearth the truth behind the scam. Later Baruah was granted bail.
