BTAD calm; curfew relaxed

The overall situation in BTAD areas remained normal. There is no report of any untoward incident during the last 96 hours.

Baksa, Chirang and Kokrajhar district administration have relaxed curfew from 10 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon in view of the let up in the situation.

Over 1500 people in Narayanguri have been  sheltering at a few camps set up by the authorities heavily guarded by the security forces.

But a section of political leaders have alleged lack of relief materials for the refugees.

Army, police and para military forces are on round the clock patrolling in the streets in Kokrajhar, Chirang and Baksa to thwart any move of the miscreants who have killed at least 37 people in a string of attacks on minority people.

Top ranked civil and police officials along with a ministers have been closely monitoring the situation in the BTAD areas.
