Chief minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday asked the policemen to firmly deal with human trafficking, witch hunting, financial fraud and cyber crimes.
Interacting with senior police officials at the Assam police headquarters, Gogoi said that the law and order has improved a lot. But in the same breath he said that there are lots of works to be done.
He asked the policemen to improve relations with the common people. Gogoi said that the police have to come closer to the people for better policing.
According to the chief minister, the government would convert 12 existing police stations into citizen-centric model police stations in the first step. He said that the Government would build up the necessary infrastructure for improving the working conditions of police personnel.
