A vertical split seems to have surfaced among the dissident MLAs and ministers who want Tarun Gogoi’s exit as chief minister.
The sharp difference takes place after a section of them decided to move the governor JB Patnaik with a no trust motion against Tarun Gogoi as CLP leader.
But a section of these legislators belonging to the dissident camp did not endorsed the move and insisted on floating a new party.
A circle of senior dissident legislators has already openly opposed the ultimatum served to the high command which was why, they had to be embarrassed before the AICC top guns.
Sarat Borkotoky, Dr Bhumidhar Barman and Chandan Sarkar are believed to have silently taken the side of chief minister Gogoi.
These senior MLAs are dead opposed to the idea of new party and that’s why, are averse to further go against Gogoi as chief minister.
If this split persists, no dissident legislators would move the Raj Bhawan on Monday with any move against the chief minister.
