Life is limping back to normalcy in Golaghat district. Curfew in the violence-hit district was relaxed for further two hours till 8 pm on Saturday following no fresh incident.
The prohibitory order imposed on April 20 was relaxed by the district administration for 14 hours from 6 am while it was 12 hours on Friday.
Night curfew from 8 pm to 6 am will, however, continue to be in force. Talking to Assam Times, officials said that there is no report of any untoward incident during the last 48 hours.
Chief minister Tarun Gogoi also said the state government would provide adequate compensation and rehabilitate the people displaced by the recent violence along the border claiming nine lives.
