No let-up in flood woes

  There is no let-up in the flood fury that has claimed 7 lives apart from rendered over ten lakh people in fifteen districts homeless  during this week.

The Brahmaputra and its tributaries are still flowing above the danger level even after the halt in the incessant rains in Arunachal Pradesh.

The waterlevels in the mighty river are on the rise at Nematighat, Dhubri and Dibrugarh. Same it is in the cases of the river Jai Bharali in Sonitpur, Kopili in Kampur and Beki in Barpeta districts.

Altogether 15 districts  —Dhemaji, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Sivasagar, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Nalbari, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Morigaon, Kamrup, Dhubri, Kokrajhar and Karbi Anglong have been affected by the flood.
