Rape-murder suspects lynched

Sensation prevails a day after an irate mob lynched two rape and murder accused in Dibrugarh district on Saturday.

The bizarre incident took place at a tea garden in the Chabua area where a group of local residents lynched two men accusing them of raping and murdering a woman who worked at the garden.

The double crime took place on Thursday. The victim’s family and neighbours searched for her the entire day. But of no avail. After allegations before police, the duo refused turn up.

The woman's body was found on Friday morning. The family members suspected the duo in the crimes and an angry mob later searched for them and lynched them at the garden.

The angry garden labourers even did not allow police or media to enter the garden premises for on the spot enquiry.
