Inaugurating the 150th birth anniversary of the doyen in Guwahati on Saturday, Dr Amarjyoti Choudhury called a genius who had established Assamese as a modern Indian language rich in its literature. AASU advisor Samujjal Bhattacharyya said that over one lakh students took part in 42 locations across Assam in the simultaneous recitation of his famous poem on Saturday.
