1000 hr Karbi Anglong bandh

Karbi Anglong district braces up for an 1,000 hour bandh from October 27.  The Joint Action Committee for Autonomous State (JACAS) has called for the an unprecedented bandh from 5 in the morning to raise the demands for resumption of statehood talks with the Centre apart from a Bill for autonomous state in the winter session within the ambit of Article 244(A) of the Constitution.

Talking to Assam Times, JACAS officials alleged that the hill people of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao have been failing to get any attention of the people in the distant Delhi forcing them to take this course of action.
