A full scale operation is in progress against NDFB-S after the militant outfit unleashed a reign of terror by targeting the Adivasi people in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur district on Tuesday. Army, police and para military forces are intensifying the combing operation to nab the militant who killed not less than 38 people in four attacks in two districts simultaneously in the evening. Indo-Bhutan border has been sealed to prevent the militants from sneaking into the neighbouring country. Police sources told Assam Times that the dreaded attacks are nothing but the retaliation of the ongoing intensified crackdown in Kokrajhar where at least four militants were killed this week alone. Police has intelligence inputs of an impending backlash. But they concentrated on the minority people in the BTAD areas but not on the Adivasis. The authorities have asked the security forces to firmly deal with the militant outfits. The government is prepared to ask for more security forces to take the situation under control. Chief minister Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday afternoon said that he would strictly deal with the militant outfit if they monger further trouble in the state.
