Welcomes new civic members

Nazira All Assam Minority Students Union felicitated the newly  elected ward civic body members at a function on Sunday. 

Presided over by AMSU President Farukuddin Ahmed, the speakers hoped that the new members would spare no pain to deliver the goods. 

The senior citizens asked the newly elected ward members to work in a constructive way for the all round development of the town. BJP got 6 seats while Congress   got only 4 in Nazira and the BJP will form the next municipal board of Nazira.

Big dam consignment!

Four burgers carrying a huge consignment on the river Brahmaputra seems to have generated no less anxiety among the big dam protesters across the state.

Amid tight security, the burgers were seen leaving towards Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday morning at the Pandu Ghat in Guwahati amid speculations of NHPC authority’s fresh attempt to procure big dam turbines.

But the security personnel guarding the burgers are tightlipped on the consignment. However, there was no confirmation on the consignment and destination.

North East Regional Human Resource Development Society (NERHURDS) , a Changsari based Non Governmental Organisation in the district of Kamrup ( Rural) is going to organise one day youth programme on career awareness. The career awareness programme will be held at Saraighat College on 4th July from 10 am onwards. Uproar in winrter session as Mathur speaks of dev

Assam Governor Shiv Charan Mathur on Monday urged the people to extend help the government implement its plans and policies.

Addressing the winter session of Assam Assembly in the morning the governor said his government is committed to implement all the plans and policies to ensure development in the state.

As the governor stood up to address the House, the Opposition members raise to disrupt it alleging the government's failure on all front. The main Opposition AGP members along with other Opposition party members thus created an unruly scene on the floor.

Despite repeated appeal by Speaker Tanka Bahadur Rai, the Oppsition members did not listen to him which forced the governor to conclude the speech.
