A grim crisis of essential commodities await Nagaland a days after a rape accused from Assam was killed in mob attack in Dimapur.
Trucks refuse to ply to Nagaland carrying essential commodities to the neighbouring state from Saturday. Over 35 trucks are remaining stranded on the way leading to Dimapur.
Same it is in other parts of the interstate bordering areas where truckers are refusing to proceed to Nagaland alleging attack on non Naga people in the wake of the killing of an Assamese businessman in Dimapur who was a rape accused.
Five truckers bodies have categorically told Assam Times that they have stopped plying trucks to Nagaland in protest against the killing of Syed Farid Khan, who was an automobile businessman.
“We will not ply until justice is not ensured to the Khans. Also we want the culprits be bought to books,” said DH Nath.
Talking to Assam Times the truckers said that the culprits should be caught and hanged. They said that it would only help the state reduce senseless acts.
