Dokoma probes in progress

The Karbi Anglong district administration steps up probe into the recent three rape allegations in Dokmoka area. Simultaneous probes are also in progress by police and the army in this connection.

Soures told Assam Times that additional deputy commissioner Hunmili Teronpi is expected to submit the report in 15 days. Karbi Students' Association demands immediate arrest of the culprits. It further demands , withdrawal of the regiment from the district apart from compensation to the victims.

The various local organizations are holding talks with deputy commissioner Mukti Gogoi on Sunday to resolve the issue.

The incident took place on April 6 when a few army jawans raped three women at Khorsim Athoi village under Dokmoka police station as they were conducting an operation against militants.
