The Gauhati High Court on Tuesday adjourned the move to register cases against Chief Minister and revenue minister in connection with the Pranab Boro self immolation case.
The high court intervention came after the court heard a petition of the government challenging the additional chief judicial magistrate’s order to file a case against the duo acting on the complaint of the victim’s wife.
The court, however, has issued notice to the ACJM in Kmarup in this regard and decided to hear the entire case after the bihu.
Notably, ACJM has directed Dispur police to file case against chief minister Tarun Gogoi and revenue minister Pritivi Majhi on the basis of Purnima Boro’s allegation that the duo were responsible for the self immolation of his husband in Dispur on February 24.
