More flood is likely to wreak havoc if the incessant rains are any indication. Incessant rains refuse to halt forcing the water level of the Brahmaputra and its tributaries to flow above the danger level.
The Brahmaputra is still flowing above the danger mark at Nematighat in Jorhat. The Sankosh was flowing above danger mark at Golokganj in Dhubri.
Lakhimpur is worst hit district where over 50,000 people have been rendered homeless during the last ten days. This is followed by Barpeta where over 2,300 people being trapped.
Other flood hit districts include Bongaigaon, Lakhimpur and Baksa, Dhemaji, Morigaon, Jorhat, Tinsukia and Dhubri where flood fury has taken three lives.
