Dissidence refuses to figure again

Contrary to speculations, the high voltage talks of Rahul Gandhi with Tarun Gogoi, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and Anjan Duttta ended without any conclusion.

The AICC vice president was apprised of the state’s pre poll political landscape and the party’s poll preparedness.

Chief Minister Gogoi briefed Gandhi the slew of latest steps to ensure poll victory for the fourth consecutive term.    

Dutta said that the party is gearing up for the assembly polls early next year. Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma who was the focus of the talks had to remain satisfied without venting any ire against Gogoi and Dutta.

Gandhi told them that he would be coming to Guwahati soon to get pulse of the party leaders and workers in the pre poll scenario.

AICC general secretary Dr CP Joshi also attended the meeting at the residence of the Congress vice president
