A surging water level of the Brahmaputra is posing a serious threat to Guwahati city forcing the authority to keep the denizens on maximum alert.
If the mighty river maintains the surging trend, Panbazar, Uzanbazar, Maligaon, Bharalumukh and Fancy bazaar area might come under waters during the next 24 hours.
The Kamrup (Metro) deputy commissioner’s office and CJM court have been facing the first threat along with the adjacent areas.
The Brahmaputra is flowing above the danger level because of the incessant rains in the catchment areas of Arunachal Pradesh.
