Zomi body visits Churachandpur
Amid undying sensation the Zomi Re -unification Organization members from Mizoram visited Churachandpur on Wednesday and paid tribute to the nine people who lost their lives in the recent orgy of violence in the restive district.
Women groups continue their sit-in protest which got a major boost when hundreds of people from Singat and Lamka joined the protest rally. They further visited the bodies at the hospital morgue.
On the other hand, the tribal leaders discussed the further course of action with the Convention members at KKL Complex in Churachandpur in the afternoon.

The suspense over the abduction of businessman Kailash Ginoria came to an end with the recovery of his dead body at the tributary of Mikang River in Lungsang Basti under Bhandari Police Station in Nagaland located about three kilometers away from Merapani at around 9.30 am in the morning. Kailash Ginoria was kidnapped on 10th March from Jorhat town and since then Jorhat police has launched a massive search operation to trace Ginoria and in this connection had arrested fourteen suspects. Among them it was Rajiv Lala Rahman who spilled the beans about the kidnapping and directed the police team to the very spot where the dead body of abducted Ginoria was recovered. There were two bullet marks on the body of Ginoria and his feet were tied. It was revealed by the kidnappers that Ginoria was killed on 11th March and during all these days his body had deteriorated beyond recognition.

A daylong media orientation program with an aim for encouraging and developing ethical journalism has been organized on Thursday (July 26, 2012) at Guwahati Press Club. Paranjoy Guha Thakurta, an independent journalist and educator spanning 35 years of experiences in print, radio, television and documentary film-making, will attend the program as the resource person.
The technical session will start at 10 am, which will be open for the journalist-members of Guwahati Press Club. The interested journalists should submit their names to the office of the press club by Tuesday evening.
It will be followed by the Guest of the Month program at 3 pm in the same venue, where Guha Thakurta will interact with the media persons on various media related issues.

Former Congress MP Mani Kumar Subba’s condition shows signs of recovery. But he is still not out of danger. The Tezpur independent candidate is on ventilation support at the Medanta City Hospital in Gurgaon.
Subba, who is contesting from Tezpur in the Lok Sabha polls suddenly fell ill on Thursday last at his residence in Lakhimpur before being flown to GNRC in Dispur.
His family members rushed Subba to Gurgaon for better condition where he is not out of danger.
