ABMSU new committee took oath
The new committee of the All BTAD Minority Students Union (ABMSU), which was formed recently in its annual session in Udalguri, took oath of office on Sunday at a programme held Kashipara union office in Kokrajhar. Moynul Haque, founder president of the students union and chaired the session, administered the oath taking ceremony in the presence publics and union members.
Sayed Sahabudding Sheik and Lafikul Islam Ahmed, president and general secretary, both retained their portfolios for second term respectively took oath of office and secrecy along with other executive members. Sheik and Ahmed said that the students union wax working for the welfare of the community in the region to build a healthy society.
The leaders have eyed equal and integrate society among various communities resides in the region as well in the state to gain more development. The students union leaders urged govt to take firm actions against rising jehadi and militancy activities in the state which are creating resented.

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday. Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return.
