Bongaigaon XI Star beat Municipality FC
Bongaigaon XI Star Club beat Coochbehar Municipality FC,West Bengal 3-1 in Thursday’s match of Daoharu Mungklong Trophy being played at Dotma DASA ground in Kokrajhar.
A Adindu of Coochbehar Municipality netted first goal against Bongaigaon in 30 minutes and led thd match 1-0 in the first half. For Bongaigaon, Joseph Frank scored first goal in 47 minutes, Sukursingh Basumatary scored two goals in 62 minutes and 65 minutes in the second half which led the team to win the match 3-1 and forwarded for another round.
Tomorrow, DASA XI, Dotma will take on Kashibari Youth Club, Udalguri. Meanwhile, Udalguri BA FC defeated 16 AP Bn, Marigaon 1-0 in the ongoing B Bwhwithi memorial Gold Cup held at Jaraguri ground under Gossaigaon subdivision in today's match. Manipur IWDSA XI will clash on Barhoongka AC, Kokrajhar on Friday.

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday. Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return.
