Restoring Assam-Nagaland bonhomie

Civil society organizations both from Assam and Nagaland at a conclave in Guwahati on Friday have agreed to help the two north eastern states restore age old trust and bonhomie. Amid trouble and skirmish along the Assam-Nagaland interstate border at regular intervals, the Asom Sahitya Sabha and Naga Hoho will jointly take the lead to strength the bond afresh. 

The participants in the round table discussion of civil societies organized by the Nanda Talukdar Foundation, said that dialogue and discussion of the civil societies would be an affective mechanism to build confidence and gap trust deficit among the people in both the states. The Asom Sahitya Sabha, the largest literary organization will jointly work with the influential Naga Hoho.

Led by social activist Niketu Iralu, the Naga delegation comprised Chuba Ozukum, Rosemary Dzuvichu and Subenthang Kikon while Prof. Udayan Misra took the lead for Assam side flanked by Asam Sahitya Sabha president Dhrubajyoti Bora, AASU adviser Dr Samujjwal Bhattacharjya, Tai Sahitya Sabha president Dayananda Borgohain.
