Cong-AGP-AIUDF-BPF poll alliance!

A crucial meeting of Rahul Gandhi with Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and APCC president Anjan Dutta in New Delhi on Tuesday is expected to clear the picture of a huge political equation in the pre poll political scenario.

 

Sources told Assam Times that Gogoi and Dutta are all set to convince the AICC vice president of the positive impact of the non BJP alliance in the upcoming assembly polls. These parties include AGP, AIUDF, BPF and the Akhil Gogoi-led Gana Mukti Sangram Sammity.

“Without any priliminary indication from AGP and AIUDF we are not proceeding with this deal. We the secular forces will be taking on BJP. We hope it would work,” said a senior political leader in New Delhi.    

Apart from AIUDF, the ruling party is believed to have been in touch with AGP and BPF. AGP is not going to forge poll pact with Congress. But it would not oppose the idea to take on BJP. AIUDF is free to any pact with Congress. BPF will support the single largest party while the Akhil Gogoi-led Gana Mukti Sangram Samity will not contest. But it could give moral support against BJP.

The undeclared poll deal came to light when Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday openly urged AGP, AIUDF, BPF, GMSS to stand united to take on BJP in the assembly polls early next year.
