BJP leaders join BPF

In a well development gesture of ruling BPF party ahead Assembly election early next 2016 year, three BJP leaders today formally joined in BPF at a programme held here at Barhoongka AC ground in Kokrajhar today. BPF leaders welcome and felicitated newly joined members with traditional Aronai. They are Manaj Protim Saha, ex president of Kokrajhar district Youth BJP and state BJP executive member, Asim Das, ex vice-president of Kokrajhar district Youth BJP and Lalchand Ali, member of Kokrajhar district BJP. BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary,MLA Pramila Rani Brahma, BTC executive members Rajib Brahma and Doneswar Goyary attended the programme and addressed.

Int'l Theatre Festival held in Kokrajhar

The Mwihur International Theatre Festival has ended in Kokrajhar, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). The seven-day festival took place at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, Chandamari. Candidates from different parties files nomination

The United People’s Party(UPP) candidate  for Kokrajhar east Pratibha Brahma filed nomination papers to the Returing Officer at DC office in Kokrajhar on Monday. Brahma, was accompanied by senior party leader Rabiram Ujir,leaders from alliance partnar Congress party Ashok Kumar Borgoyary. AIUDF leader joins UPP

With extending support to the United People's Party ahead scheduled Assam assembly election on April 11 next, Rafikul Sheik, vice president of Kokrajhar district committee of AIUDF joined in UPP at a party meeting at Fakiragram under Kokrajhar west LAC in Kokrajhar district on Sunday.  Sheik along with his party supporters joined the party in the presence of huge party supporters and extended supports to the party.  'His joined the UPP party will blow a setback to the AIUDF party', said a political analyst.   

NDFB-S ultra held

Security forces apprehend a NDFB(S) cadre from Basabil area under Gossaigaon PS on Sunday in Kokrajhar district. Based on information about the presence of the militant outfit cadres in the area, a joint team of police and army launched an operation where a listed cadre of Gossaigaon platoon of the NDFB(S) was arrested along with arms. He was identified as Sanjay Narzary of Borsabil village. A pistol, two round ammunition was recovered from him.

BPF leaves three more seats to BJP

The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has left three constituencies- Sorbhog, Rangia and Bhawanipur to the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP), its ally party. Talking to Reporters in Kokrajhar at the sideline of an election rally for the 30 Kokrjhar East candidate Pramila Rani Brahma in Koktrajhar town,  BPF president and BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary said ‘yes we have decided to leave the three seats to the BJP.  We are not fielding candidates in these three constituencies, he said adding that the party will now contest in 13 constituencies in the BTAD region.  The BPF have earlier announced party candidature in 16 constituencies, including in these three constituencies.
