A new short film has been made as a tribute to cultural activist and cinema producer late Daisy Gogoi. The film made in Hindi titled 'Yatra', produced by Bikramaditya Gogoi, brother of Daisy Gogoi, under the banner of Daisy Cine Production and Rajashree Entertainment, is presently engaged with post-productions works after wrapping up filming in Jyoti Chitraban Studio and Sonapur locations. A popular and well-known figure, Daisy Gogoi's film 'Jhilmil Junak' starring artistes like Jatin Bora, Nischita Goswami, Nipon Goswami and Dinesh Das, was shot in the beautiful foreign locales of Bangkok, Pattaya, among others. Everyone admired her spirit of enthusiasm and generosity. During the making of 'Jhilmil Junak', Gogoi never for once fretted or complained despite her movie going way over-budget. What mattered most to her was the movie at large. She will be much missed by the film community.
'Yatra's story and direction are by Rohon Pator, who has helmed the Assamese film 'Saya'. He threw myself into the project with a passionate zeal. A major part of the film's attraction will be the performing artistes. A well-known artiste on Zee TV's popular show 'Qubool Hai', Ankit Raj stars as the leading man in 'Yatra'. He shares space opposite actresses Kartika Awasthi and Akangsha Sarin, who have made a name for themselves on national television. Various other roles are played by artistes from the North East. The film’s script is written by noted writer Prabhat Goswami. Dialogues are written by Riaz Ahmed. The film's camerawork is done by Papu Deka. 'Yatra' is slated to release in December.
