In a joint operation of Army and police arrested one Dipak Basumatari (33) at Goreswar of Baksa district on Monday at about 4.45 pm. The youth is a resident of Chinakuna village. A 9 mm pistol with magazine was recovered from his possession. He was reportedly involved in many extortion related cases in the name of NDFB, added army and police sources .
Udalguri: The second phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Assam saw a significant turnout, with 72.99% of eligible voters casting their ballots across the Darrang-Udalguri Parliamentary Constituency.
