Caught in a barrage of protest, the forest department has asked senior officer MT Timung to probe the shoot out in Kaziranga where a minor boy sustained grave injury on Sunday.
The authority has further suspended the accused forest guard Manas Bora who targeted Akash Orang who was on his way back to his home in the evening near the Solmara forest camp.
The department will bear the entire expenditure for treatment of Akash Orang who was injured in the incident.
The department announced this following a huge protest on the National Highway demanding immediate action against the forest guard whom thousands of local people caught after the incident.
