Three kidnappers arrested
Salakati police apprehended three cadres of National Santhali Liberation Army (NSLA), Adivasi militant organization from Kachuabil area in Kokrajhar district late last night, who were involved with kidnapped Ajijul Haque alias Afjal, 23 of Choutaki village.
Ajijul was kidnapped on June 30 last from his Choutaki resident under Salkati outpost in Kokrajhar and since then kidnappers demanded 20 lalks for the release of Ajijul. Polie has been intensified search operation to rescue kidnapped man and hence able to arrest cadres of NSLA in the district.They were identified as Rajib Baskey, 30, Sunil Kisku, 25 and Philip Soren, 40. They were arrested under FIR lodged registered case no.387/16, u/s 365 IPC. They were red handed while coming to receive demanded 20 lakh money at Kachuagaon in Kokrajhar district late last night.Lahit Murmu, who was main accused still absconding.

The 7th edition of the northeast Butterfly meet was concluded at Raimona National Park in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday. Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Executive Member for Forest & Environment Ranjit Basumatary inaugurated the event at Kachugaon.
