Eerie silence after bloodbath
An eerie silence prevails in Kokrajhar on Saturday a day after unidentified militants killed 14 people in a deadly attack at an open market.
Security forces are fanning in and around the entire area in search of the trouble mongers who managed to flee from the spot immediately after opening firing and bombing.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, senior minister Himanta Biswa Sarma assessed the law and order situation in the BTAD district at a high level meeting of civil of police officials. They further visited the injured people who have been battling for life in the hospitals.
The gory attack on the common people has forced the government to seek more security forces to firmly deal with the militants who have been unleashing violence for the last many years. People, mostly, in Balajan a few km away from the Kokrajhar town, remaining inside their houses.
Shops and markets remained closed fearing more attacks and security personal have been patrolling on the road.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district.
